Young people in business, academics, public service, and the private sector have been invited to the 2024 Wake Up Youth Conference slated for Saturday, January 13, 2024, in the Gbagada area of Lagos State.

The conference themed ‘Ignition’ will host thought leaders in the public and private sector to inspire, and provide a mentorship platform for young people. It is powered by a non-profit organisation Afara Africa.

The speakers for the conference include the convener and founder of Afara Africa Lekan Oyebanjo, president of Coscharis Group Dr. Cosmas Maduka, and Special Adviser to Lagos State governor on climate change and circular economy Titilayo Oshodi.

Others are music artiste Gaise Baba, Oluwayomi Uteh, Davies M. Echegwisi, TitOluwa Sam-Oladapo, Victory Olumuyiwa.

Speaking ahead of the conference, Oyebanjo in a statement on Friday said the conference is an expression of the foundation’s commitment to help young people bridge the gap between where they are and where they are destined to be.

“Afárá Africa is not just an organization; it’s a dream aimed at helping young individuals between the ages of 18-35 discover their untapped potential for greatness, and make a lasting impact in the world,” Oyebanjo said.

The convener said he envisions more than organising events but igniting a movement for positive change to motivated and ambitious youth who are interested in guidance, support, and personal development.
