C’River approves 108 tractors for small-holder farmers

Cross River State Executive Council has given approval for the procurement of 108 units of agriculture tractors for small-holder farmers as part of the overall strategy for job creation and food security in the state.


This was one of the ten approvals given by the executive council, presided over by the Governor, Bassey Otu, during her third meeting of the year.

The council also approved request for interventions in other sectors of the economy, such as roads, health, education and energy, and the three draft executive bills presented by the Commissioner for Justice, Ededem Ani, for onward submission to the state Legislature.

They include a draft bill for the Amendment of the Cross River State Security Trust Fund Law, 2010; Bill to Provide for the Mainstreaming of Climate Change Actions, and Establishment of the State Council on Climate Change and Related Matters, and a Draft Executive Bill for Establishment of the Cross River State Green Economy Commission and other matters related therewith.
