Culture influencer returns with a decade after

Akinade Ibuoye, popularly known as Gaise Baba, who specialises in urban Christian music and communicates in his native Yoruba language and English, has released a sophomore album titled, A Decade After.

A culture influencer, who is fighting to keep thousands of youths in Nigeria away from drugs and truancy, Ibuoye is the leader of LightOut High School Movement and ARAMANDA Festival.

With over a decade in the music industry, the Berklee College of Music product has evolved and is a constant reminder of one of the vanguards of a prosperous nation: Freedom and truth.

The album is regarded as the artist’s most anticipated project since Logo (The EP), which was released in 2020.

In a statement made available to The Guardian, he noted that the sophomore album would stimulate creativity and depth among music makers.

Produced by ID Cabasa, DJ Klem, Tbabz and Password, Gaise Baba takes lovers of his music through a journey of 13 tracks.

The tracks, which comprise varying sounds ranging from Afrobeats, Afropop, rap and vintage African soulful sounds, start off on a gentle note with Surely, a hopeful track, where he expresses his appreciation to God.

Eje (Blood) reminds listeners that no life challenges can stand the power in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Talking about Ready, featuring Nosa, he reiterates his commitment to following the way of the Lord, as he has done in a previous album.

Questions, featuring Tobi Toun, is a rap song, where the artist touches on major issues of faith and devotion, while Olulana, explains the plight of a husband acknowledging his need for God’s help in leading his home right.

Also, Everything, featuring Angeloh, ushers youthful independence of the soul and admits that with God’s help, you can overcome all things!

Other tracks in the album include Gbagbe Oshi, Ojonlo Wonbiliki Wobia, Emergency, Titilai (Forever) and Elijah Level.
