Cyber cafes, tutorial centres to blame for most certificate frauds – JAMB

UTME: JAMB

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says cyber cafe and tutorial centres operators are responsible for most of the certificate frauds under investigation.

The exam body stated this while responding to an X user Faseun Olumuyiwa with the handle @Faseun4You.

In a post on his X handle, Faseun urged JAMB to allow approved Cyber Cafes to be involve in the registration of students for its exam.

He posited that this will to reduce the huge number of people at JAMB office.

JAMB I think it is necessary at this stage that you allow @cacnigeria1 Certified Cyber Cafe operators to also have access to register UTME students. This will reduce crowd in jamb offices and CBT centres.”

But the exam body called out the Cyber Cafes and tutorial centres for their roles in the issue of certificate frauds.

“Cyber Cafe and tutorial centres operators are responsible for majority of the certificate frauds being investigated today,” JAMB stated on X.

“Licensing them will simply be tantamount to keeping a cat in a room to watch over fried fish.”
