Cycology celebrates, donates dry food goodie boxes to road sweepers

Members of Cycology Cycling Club celebrated road sweepers in Lagos with a cycling ride to three locations within the city. In the process, over 200 road sweepers in the three locations got free food packs from the group.

Some of the sweepers that got the package were those stationed around Bourdillon, TBS and Dolphin areas of Lagos.

The Captain, Cycology Cycling Club, Temitope George, said that the club yearly celebrates road sweepers for keeping the roads clean. “As cyclists, we are very vulnerable to broken items on the road. So, we appreciate our road sweepers because they keep our roads clean and safe for us. As a club, we have been doing this since 2011, since the days of monthly environmental sanitation,” she said.

According to George, this edition is the biggest because of the support the club got from sponsors who donated generously to the programme. She thanked all the sponsors for without them, the club will not be able to reach as much people.

The club’s Sponsorship Secretary, Mr. Anant Rao, also applauded sponsors for supporting the club, saying they believe in giving as well as promoting environmental conscious and friendliness, reason it celebrated the road sweepers with a cycling ride and donated food packs to appreciate their effort.

He said the sweepers play significant role in building the environment and keeping the roads clean so that everybody can use them.

“We thank all our sponsors who were extremely large hearted,” he said.
