Afrobeat singer, Davido has announced a 300 million naira donation to orphanage homes around Nigeria.
The ‘Timeless’ singer said the donation would be done through his David Adeleke Foundation.
“I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation .. details of disbursement tomorrow,” he said in a post on X.

Recall that, the Guardian reported a similar announcement, on the same date on July 20, 2023, when a sum of #237M was also donated and was disbursed through the chairman of the disbursement committee, Mrs Titi Adebayo.
Since the inception of the foundation in 2022, the foundation has rendered various forms of assistance to different orphanage homes across the country.
In his words, he said In October 2022, the foundation began reaching out to eminent and compassionate Nigerians, seeking their support in raising funds for the less privileged across the country.
Thanks to the generous contributions from individuals and corporations across various sectors and regions; the DAF was able to raise a substantial Donation Sum of 237M Naira.
“I would like to personally thank all individuals and corporations that assisted in raising the Donation Sum. This would not have been possible without your unwavering support and kindness. May God bless every one of you.
This donation comes at a time when Nigerians are reeling against the backdrop of a harsh economy and surely will be a relief to the beneficiaries.
