The family, in a letter sent to the Vice Chancellor, through its counsel, Punuka Attorney and Solicitors, also demanded a public apology from the university for the breach of the deceased’s privacy and right to dignity of human person, which is to be posted on its official website, relevant social media platforms and national newspapers.

According to the letter, dated June 3, signed by Adeyinka Abdulsalam and Nnamdi Oragwu, partners in the law firm, and made available to The Guardian, yesterday, the family demanded another N20 million to cover funeral expenses and related costs.

It also demanded an investigative panel to conduct a public inquiry into the death of the deceased and actions of Prof. Enyi, vis-à-vis alleged discrimination, unfair and corrupt practices in the course of his academic duties.

The law firm said if the university fails or refuses to comply with the demands, it has the instruction and authority of the client to employ all available legal means to enforce its client’s rights against the university and Prof. Enyi.
