The Ethnic Youth Leaders have clarified that Hon. Dumnamene Dekor is not the leader of the Rivers State Caucus in the House of Representatives, a position held by Hon. Dagomie Abiante. This statement comes in response to Dekor’s recent claims and his warning to Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere regarding the ongoing disagreements involving the Governor of Rivers State, Similanayi Fubara, the House of Assembly, and former Local Government Chairmen.

In a statement signed by Comrade Hart Israel, Director of the South-South Region, the youth group urged the leadership of the House of Representatives to suspend Dekor for allegedly impersonating Abiante. They described Dekor’s claims as misleading and an attempt to ingratiate himself with political figures like Wike.

The group’s statement reads: “We call on the leadership of the House of Representatives to suspend Dekor for impersonation, claiming a position that wasn’t his. Dekor’s statement yesterday claimed he is the leader of the Rivers State reps Caucus and warned Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere to desist from what he described as misleading press briefings on the ongoing disagreement between the Governor of Rivers State, Similanayi Fubara, and the House of Assembly, and latterly, former Local Government Chairmen.”

The youth leaders found Dekor’s assertions laughable, accusing him of lying about a non-existent meeting and failing to address the crisis in his state. They highlighted that Dekor’s criticism of Ugochinyere for not being from Rivers State was ironic, given that Ugochinyere is addressing issues Dekor should be handling.

“Dekor’s statement is outright false, mischievous, malicious, and undeserving of a member of the House of Representatives. We urge Hon. Ugochinyere not to dignify Dekor with a response as he’s only trying to please his master,” the statement continued.
