Demi Moore Shares Update on Bruce Willis Amid Dementia

Actress Demi Moore recently spoke about her ex-husband Bruce Willis, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023.

Moore shared advice on “Good Morning America,” emphasizing the importance of meeting individuals with dementia where they are and finding joy in the present moment.

The “Feud” star, who shares three adult children with Willis, emphasized the beauty and sweetness in embracing the reality of the present.

Moore reiterated this message when asked about caring for family members with dementia, encouraging people to let go of preconceptions and appreciate the love and joy in the current situation.

Bruce Willis, married to Moore from 1987 to 2000, received an aphasia diagnosis in March 2022, leading him to step away from acting. The family later revealed the progression to frontotemporal dementia in February 2023. Despite challenges in communication, friends like Glenn Gordon Caron noted that Willis remains recognizable as himself.

Emma Heming, Willis’ current wife, has openly discussed the challenges of caring for the actor, expressing daily feelings of sadness and grief. The family’s announcement of the specific dementia diagnosis brought both pain and relief.

Frontotemporal dementia, affects the frontal and/or temporal lobes of the brain, has altered Willis’ life, making language skills challenging.
