The deposed emir Aminu Ado Bayero may have defiled an ex parte order directing his eviction from the Nassarawa palace annexe in Kano.
Justice Aminu Adamu Aliyu yesterday granted an interim injunction stopping Bayero and the four former first chiefs from parading themselves as emirs.
The exparte obtained by Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Speaker Kano State House of Assembly, and Kano House of Assembly, also directed the Commissioner of Police and Nigeria Army to ensure Bayero was ejected from Nassarawa palace.
However, The Guardian reliably gathered that Bayero is still residing in the palace annex receiving traditional title holders loyal to him.
The palace source revealed that “Emir Aminu Bayero is still in Nassarawa palace well and healthy and receiving his subjects”.
He insisted Bayero had no reason to vacate the palace because he was not aware of any order of the court.
Meanwhile, our correspondent observed the redeployment of security operatives, including the military around the Nassarawa palace annex, despite the rebuttal of the Army authority isolating the military from any enforcement of court order in Kano.
When contacted on the enforcement of Bayero’s eviction, the spokesperson of the police command in Kano, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa promised to reply sooner as possible.
But The Guardian learned from that police has no mandate to carry out any eviction.
The security source indicated that police has not stake in Justice Aminu Adamu Aliyu’s order because he was not part of the respondents in the matter.
