The yearly synod of the Diocese of Lagos West (Anglican Communion) will start tomorrow at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral.

The four-day synod, according to a statement by the Diocese’s Media Team Leader, Tunji Oguntuase, will start with an opening service that will be attended by bishops of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and other dignitaries.

Bishop of the diocese, The Rt. Rev. (Dr) James Olusola Odedeji, who will preside over the third session of the ninth synod, said that far-reaching decisions to guide the diocese would be taken at the business sessions.

He said: “The diocese has made remarkable progress in the past 25 years. We have no intention of relenting, and this synod will set the agenda for the next three years and beyond.”

When Odedeji delivers his charge on Friday, he will examine the state of the nation and review the progress made since the last synod.
