Don’t pay for slots, NPC advises census job seekers

Nigeria census

National Population Commission (NPC) has cautioned those seeking to be engaged as ad hoc staff during next month’s national population and housing census against paying for slots.

An NPC special agent, Adamu Awe, who sounded the warning, said it was a criminal act to request money from applicants, adding the Commission will not hesitate to deal with anyone found culpable.

She reiterated that NPC is not asking any temporary job seeker to pay for service.

Awe added:  “My advice to applicants is that they should not go into any transaction with anybody, and if at all anybody is requiring them to pay any money, they should report immediately with evidence of payment.

“We can’t arrest or deal with those fraudsters without having evidence to prove.”

The Commission encouraged applicants to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity or person.
