After building buzz with two critically acclaimed EPs “Sunday Behavior” and “Yo & Behold”, gospel music luminary, Dr. Yohan prepares to bless God’s faithfuls worldwide with the grand unveiling of his first full-length album, “Premium Praise Live” on March 3rd, 2024.
Recorded before a live audience in the city of Abuja, Dr. Yohan’s 11-track opus “Premium Praise Live” explores modern gospel and Contemporary Christian fusions, blending Afrobeat, Trap, and Electronic pop sub-genres.
The former university lecturer with an honorary doctorate in International Affairs has been a fixture in the Nigerian gospel scene for over a decade – mentoring emerging talents, and organizing an annual concert in Kogi state, backed by the devotion of the music-savvy and ever-skillful team at TAP.
The artiste reflects, “If ‘premium’ means ‘quality’, then when Psalm 150 says ‘Let everything that has breath praise the Lord,’ I’m saying that we should do it premium!”
“Premium Praise Live” arrives amidst a modern gospel renaissance, as Dr. Yohan updates traditional gospel themes to empower and inspire modern congregations through music.
The project also features collaborations from contemporary gospel ministers like Tee Worship, Roland Ricketts, Israel Funsho, and Boomplay’s campus music star, Ellacentric.
