Dwin, the stoic returns vibrantly with love lane

A musician in a league of his own, Edwin Madu, professionally known as Dwin, The Stoic, has tag-teamed his longtime collaborator Rhaffy, on an evergreen EP dubbed, Love Lane. The 5-track record sees the singer soar with a deepened version of his artistry.

Featuring ace mavericks Efe Oraka and Kelechief as guest collaborators, Dwin tells a story of love – from the perspective of one who has lost it. On Streets, the record’s lead single, the young musician bemoans having to remain in the ‘streets’, alluding to the frustrations of being detached from his lover.

The record, which shuffles his signature RnB/folk fusion, alongside Pop and Electronic Dance Music, reverberates with Dwin’s intentionality. It’s a very industry-focused record, as it shines for its sonical depth and uniqueness.

Thriving for its replay value, the EP – a total of 13 minutes – is a level up from Dwin’s earlier records such as his 2018 EP Heavy Heart, and his slew of hit singles such as GKW/Winning Bread, Ifunanyam, among others.

At a listening session witnessed by Weekend Beats in Lagos, the young musician unpacked the inspiration behind the record, alluding to his endless attempt to create cathartic and evergreen music. Love Lane is out across music streaming services.
