The newly-declared governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state, Dennis Idahosa has called for reconciliation with those he contested with.

Idahosa who is a member of the House of Representatives on Saturday emerged as the candidate of APC for the Edo state governorship election after scoring over 400,000 votes to win the Primaries.

He has now called for reconciliation with his fellow contestants so that they can work together ahead of the gubernatorial election itself.

“The time of trouble is over, this is the time for reconciliation,” Idahosa who will now fly APC’s flag in the September 2024 governorship poll in Edo state told newsmen.

“For those that we have contested the election together, we are one family and we are also brothers.

“So, I am going to start the reconciliation process immediately because I will need all of them to win the governorship election.”

Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma who chairs the Edo State Governorship Primary Election Committee declared Idahosa as the winner of the APC primaries which took place in Benin City.

“This is so therefore to satisfy that Honorable Dennis Idahosa, having scored the highest number of votes cast is hereby declared the winner of the primaries and is returned as the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) for the coming election,” Uzodimma said.

Idahosa also took time to dedicate his victory to God while thanking his supporters and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I therefore dedicate this victory to God Almighty and I also want to thank the people of Edo state,” Idahosa said.
