Edo kicks off re-accreditation exercise for vigilante personnel

The Edo State Government has begun the reaccreditation of over 6500 personnel of the State’s Security Vigilante Network (ESSVN).


In a statement, the Coordinator of ESSVN, Col. Kole Omomia, said the profiling and training would be held between yesterday and Sunday.

According to him, the reaccreditation exercise is only for trained vigilante operatives in the state.

The statement reads: “Following Governor Godwin Obaseki’s directive, the Edo State Security Vigilante Network (ESVN) has started the reaccreditation and training of 6,500 ESVN operatives in the state.

“The profiling which commenced yesterday was held at Oredo, 8-11am; Ikpoba-Okha, 12-2pm, and Egor, 3-5pm.”

Omomia noted that today’s exercise would take place in Ovia North East between 9 and 11 am and Ovia South East from 1 to 3 pm.  He added that the reaccreditation would end tomorrow in Uhunmwonde between 9 and 11am and Orhiomnwon from 1 to 3 pm.
