‘Education standards should be maintained despite economic crisis’

Provost, Wavecrest College of Hospitality, Rosana Forsuelo, has called on educational institutions to always strive to maintain standards despite fluctuating socio-economic environment. She made the call as the college matriculated 83 students, saying sustenance of standard has been the guiding principle and strength of the school.

She said: “Today, as we witness the matriculation of our students, we affirm our commitment to providing them with the support they need to succeed even as we encourage them to embrace every opportunity for growth, to push the boundaries of their own potential and approach their studies with enthusiasm.”  She also called on the students to develop reformative mindset and seek growth opportunities.

This, she said, would go a long way to enable them push the boundaries of their potential and approach their educational pursuit with enthusiasm.
She noted that despite the economic challenges in the country, the college has continued to experience tremendous growth and success.  The provost also expressed gratitude to the donors whose support has been instrumental to the growth and success of the institution.

In her welcome address, the Registrar, Veronica Esode, underscored the need for the students to stay focused during their educational pursuit.

“In the ever-evolving landscape of hospitality, focus is not just a skill; it’s a guiding principle. It is the compass that will help you steer through the complexities of life. Focus will enable you to channel your energy and talents towards honing your craft, whether it’s in culinary arts, hotel management, event planning, Housekeeping or any other specialization within this diverse field,” Esode said.
