Firm empowers primary school pupils in Ibadan

In commemoration of the International Day of Education, a leading German multinational firm, Henkel Nigeria, has empowered pupils of Saint Michael Primary School and IMG Primary School, Apata, Ibadan, under its researchers’ world initiative.

The initiative inspires curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking among young learners, while empowering them with lifelong skills.

A science experiment session, facilitated by Yinka Atoba of the Girls and Women Empowerment and Technological Organisation (GWETO), provided opportunities for the pupils to engage in practical activities, discussions and interactive learning.

Speaking on the initiative, Managing Director of Henkel Nigeria, Rajat Kapur, emphasised the company’s commitment to promote learning and sustainable development in Nigeria.
He described the initiative as a platform to showcase the firm’s commitment to education, fostering a generation that values learning and innovation.

While restating their commitment to advancing educational access and quality, recognising its importance to community development and societal progress, Kapur assured that the company would reach more students through the initiative and provide them with enriching learning experiences.

“By collaborating with organisations like GWETO, we strive to inspire these children and ignite their passion for science,” Kapur stated.

Executive Director, GWETO, Damilola Asaleye, said: “We believe that empowering young minds, especially girls and women, is essential for creating a more equitable society. Collaborating with Henkel is a significant step towards achieving this goal.”
