Aptly described as a resilient and dedicated worker, Andy, as he is fondly called, decided to document his life’s struggles, the adversities and obstacles he faced as well as the steps he took to swim from the river of nowhere to the shores of success.
In his words, he was “writing this autobiography not for myself particularly, but for my children. I want to sow the seed for the Egonmwan family tree that will outlive me’.
He intends to use the book to lay a foundation for his future generations, which would enable them trace their family’s root, which he couldn’t do as a result of illiteracy and his own father’s early death.
The simple and detailed narration, which is sure to captivate readers, tells of the author’s irrepressible nature, his generosity and several other virtues that are of great value to the present generation, particularly in an era of daunting challenges and numerous frustrations that beset young people.
The autobiography which was launched amidst great fanfare, coincided with the author’s 70th birthday celebration and the event attracted a lot of noteworthy and illustrious members of society. Prof. and Mrs. Pat Utomi, Sir Akintola Williams represented by Seyi Williams, Bashorun J.K Randle, Prof. and Mrs. Makanjuola, Dr and Mrs. Marie Fateye-Williams and Otuba (Dr.) Chris Ogunbanjo, amongst others graced the occasion. Mr. Soni Irabor was the host of the occasion.
Dr. Yemi Ajayi, who represented Sir Kessignton Adebutu, unveiled and presented Grace and Guts to the audience. The author personally autographed the copies sold on the spot.
