The Katsina State Government has extended the Eid-El-Fitr public holidays to Friday, April 12.

The extension was announced in a statement by the Katsina State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Bala Salisu Zango on Tuesday.

Zango said the decision to also declare Friday as a work-free day followed the good gesture of the Federal Government for extending the Eid-El-Fitr public holidays.

The Federal Government earlier on Tuesday extended the Eid-El-Fitr public holidays to Thursday.

“His Excellency, the Executive governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, has declared Friday 12th April, 2024 a work free day,” Zango said.

“According to Malam Dikko Radda, his government has also taken this step to enable workers in the state fully enjoy the Eid-El-Fitr Sallah celebration with their families.”

Zango added that the governor urged the people of Katsina to be security conscious and pray for peace to reign in the state and the nation at large as they celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Fitr.
