EKSU

Produces 79 First Class honours

The management of Ekiti State University (EKSU) Ado-Ekiti, has initiated a seamless process of delivering students’ transcripts within 72 hours.

The Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. Edward Olanipekun, stated this, yesterday, during a pre-convocation press briefing held at the Senate Chambers of the institution in Ado-Ekiti.

He said that the university would produce 79 First-Class honours graduating students during her 27th convocation ceremony where 5,963 students would be graduating.

Olanipekun also said that plans were under way to expand EKSU Ventures Limited to make it more productive to add to the Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR) for the school.

He maintained that a large chunk of the IGR still comes from the payment of fees as “Education is not cheap, saying that the university had migrated from a portal to a dedicated cloud server and with the new technology, the collection of fees and other payments in the university is now seamless.

“We have put in place a mechanism for online processing and delivery of transcripts to any global destination within 72 hours of request. For the second time, eligible graduating students will be collecting their certificates after the ceremony.

The VC also revealed that students’ unrest, which happened in the institution, leading to the closure of the university for two weeks, was under control, stating that a committee has been set up to look into the immediate and remote cause of the incident.
