Electronics firm, manufacturer partner to create tech jobs for Nigerians

As part of efforts to address job deficit and improve the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), a consumer electronics company, SIMS Nigeria Limited and Chinese manufacturer, TCL, have agreed on a partnership that will create tech jobs for millions of Nigerians.

The collaboration, which was initiated in Lagos, aims to penetrate the local market, with the view of driving more technological innovation needed to boost the country’s economy.

Speaking at the event, Executive Director, SIMS, IkEyisi, said that the collaboration would help Nigeria in advancing its technology ecosystem, with substantial benefits for the local markets.

He said: “By joining forces with TCL, the global company in electronics and home appliances, we are set to elevate the standard of Nigerians through access to our state-of-the-art products and technology.”


Beyond partnering for business purposes, he noted that the collaboration brings empowerment and stimulates economic growth across various sectors from manufacturing to retailing.

On his part, Country Manager, TCL, Alec Zhang, recognised Nigeria as one of the fastest growing countries that is embracing technology.

He noted that TCL offers cutting-edge tools that give consumers the needed satisfaction in the technology space. On other benefits the country stands to gain from the partnership, he stressed that Nigerians would benefits immensely especially in the area of tech knowledge transfer from China which would foster innovation and skill development in the country.

Zhang re-emphasised that the firm is committed to building a sustainable business enterprise that seeks to provide tech opportunities for Nigerians across all sectors.
