Embracing his will: Key to life in the supernatural

Pastor Lawrence Achudume

When the Angel visited Mary, he said: “And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary,” Luke 1:26-27.

The angel gave her such salutations and words, the Bible recorded that she was troubled and wondered what was going on.

“And the angel came in unto her, and said, hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be,” Luke 1:28-29.

She was still trying to understand what was going on when the angel spoke a more troubling word to her little imagination. The angel said to her: “Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of his father David:
And He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end,” Luke 1:30-33.

Mary probably became calm as it dawned on her that this is not ordinary, she must seize the moment and put herself into the wonder act of God in the history of man and she said: “…Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her,” Luke 1:38.

All that the angel needed was Mary’s preparedness and acceptance, the connection of her spirit to what was about to happen. This should be our words and song, “be it unto me according to thy word.” When Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth who was also in her moment of the Marvel of God in the history of man, she said: “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord” Luke 1:45.

The world then could not believe Jesus would be raised from the dead, but God did raise Him. It was a marvel. “Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices, which they had prepared and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus,” Luke 24:1-3. The angels declared concerning the wonder of His resurrection: “He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, saying, the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”

And they remembered his words (Luke 24:6-8).
• People will say about you, remember the prophesy that was given about him/her? It has come to fulfillment.
• Then they will remember your words and the words of prophecies about you, which now has manifested.
This is your season, your moment for extra-ordinary and supernatural manifestations. God is ready and He is only waiting for you to say, “let it be done to me according to thy words,” (Luke 1:38). “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…”2 Chronicles 16:9.
• You will not live an ordinary life henceforth:“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world,” (1 John4: 4).

The same power that enabled Abraham, Sarah and Mary to achieve the impossible is also available to you.“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” (Ephesians 3:20).

Apostle Peter took the extra-ordinary step to obey the voice of Jesus and he walked on water. And Peter answered him and said:“Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus,” (Matthew 14:28-29).

Somebody may ask:“Did he really walk on water?” Yes, he did! If he did not walk on water, he would not have begun to sink. “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me,” (Matthew 14:30).

You may also say, but he sank and could not complete the journey.Where was he going? He wanted to prove that because Jesus did it, it is possible for him (us) also and he did arrive at his destination because he got near to Jesus, as he wanted before he began to sink
“And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” (Matthew 14:31).
