Emmanuel Agida to host academic colloquium, honours LASU VC, Ibiyemi Olatunji

Emmanuel Agida, 156th ECOWAS Youth Ambassador and Chairman of the West Africa Youth Fellowship, is set to host an Academic Colloquium in honour of Lagos State University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello.


The event, themed ‘Education: Vision for the Future,’ aims to celebrate the exemplary leadership and legacy of Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello while fostering intellectual discourse and academic exchange.

The academic colloquium will feature keynote addresses from distinguished leaders across various fields, panel discussions on topics relevant to education, governance, and community development, as well as workshops designed to enhance leadership and problem-solving skills. The event will also include networking sessions to facilitate connections and collaborations among young leaders.

Highlighting the occasion will be the public presentation of the book titled ‘LASU Steward: The Making of West Africa’s Best University; An Account of the Leadership of Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello’, authored by Emmanuel Agida. This book serves as a tribute to Olatunji Bello’s remarkable contributions as the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University and her impact on the academic community.

The Academic Colloquium and book presentation are scheduled to take place on May 23, 2024 at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Theater, Lagos State University, commencing at 10:00 am. Esteemed scholars, policymakers, and thought leaders are expected to converge at this momentous occasion to reflect on the legacy of Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello and chart a course for the future of education in Nigeria.

Emmanuel Agida in his remarks to pressmen said his decision to host an academic colloquium is tied to his commitment for education development and nation-building, and a privilege for him to do so in honour of the illustrious Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello.
