The Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria (NAEC) has announced that top government officials, regulators, and operators across Nigeria’s energy sector will headline the Annual NAEC Energy Conference 2025 scheduled for October 9 at Eko Hotel, Lagos.
NAEC Chairman, Ugo Amadi, and Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, Dr Adeola Yusuf, in a joint statement, said the theme of this year’s conference is ‘Nigeria’s Energy Future: Exploring Opportunities and Addressing Risks for Sustainable Growth’.
According to the statement, confirmed speakers include Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil); Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas); Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power; Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC); Farouk Ahmed, Chief Executive, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited.
The association also announced that the President of Masters Energy Group, Dr Uche Ogah, will chair the conference, which will feature keynote addresses and goodwill messages from industry leaders.
The organisers said the 2025 edition will bring together policymakers, regulators, and operators from oil, gas, and power to deliberate on strategies for the sector’s sustainable growth.
The programme schedule shows that the conference will host three panel sessions. The first will examine the upstream sector with the topic, ‘Actualising Nigeria’s Energy Future: Optimising opportunities and investments for Oil and Gas Production Growth’.
The second session will focus on refining, gas processing, and product marketing under the theme, ‘Driving Sustainable Energy Future through Investment in Midstream and Downstream Infrastructure’.
Beyond the plenary, the conference will also feature the NAEC Industry Awards, with a more streamlined format. Amadi mentioned that the move reflects “NAEC’s commitment to promoting accountability and inclusivity in the sector, allowing professionals and citizens alike to actively recognize excellence within the industry.”
