The Suriname Energy Chamber is set to host the Local Content Conference 2025, to advance conversations on local content development within the country’s extractive industries, including oil, gas, and mineral sectors.
The conference, a three-day event scheduled to take place from October 21 to 23 will be held in Paramaribo, Suriname.
Participants from Europe, the United States, the Caribbean, and Africa are expected to attend the conference, which will serve as a global meeting point for knowledge exchange, investment dialogue, and cross-border collaboration.
The event will bring together local and international stakeholders to explore how Suriname can harness its growing energy potential while ensuring meaningful inclusion of local businesses, communities, and talent.
The conference will feature a networking reception, high-level panel discussions, keynote presentations, and policy dialogues on strategies for enhancing local participation in the energy value chain. Site visits and business-to-business meetings will also be part of the event, culminating in strategic deal signings.
Notable organisations, including Simpson International Consulting Group, LLC, Oando Trading, and Century Energy, have partnered with the Suriname Energy Chamber to shape Suriname’s evolving local content framework.
A cross-continental partnership between Zimbabwean PPE manufacturer Furzel and a Surinamese firm will be signed during the conference, highlighting the power of collaboration and inclusive industrial growth.
AfrExim Bank will be represented at the conference, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local content financing and enterprise development in Suriname. The Bank’s participation underscores its mission to empower African and Caribbean economies through trade and sustainable investment.

The final day, October 23, will focus on site visits and business-to-business (B2B) meetings, culminating in strategic deal signings that reflect the Chamber’s commitment to tangible results and real partnerships.”
