Enter into covenant with God, reap abundance of mercy, Akanbi tells Christians

The General Overseer of God’s Mercy Revival Ministries (GOMERM), Lagos, Dr. James Akanbi, has called on Christians to enter into covenant with God and reap the abundance of mercy that are inherent in it.

Akanbi made the call during the Easter celebration held at the Mercy Campground located on Km 4, Papalanto Road Off Sagamu-Ibadan Expressway Ofada, Ogun State.

The cleric said covenant carriers would thrive financially, even during economic turmoil, noting that whatever prayer and fasting could not do, covenant, vows and pledges would do them.

Speaking on the theme: “New Garment For New World: Breaking Free From Strongholds,” the cleric said that covenant is what takes people to different levels in life just like the Bible states that stars also differ in glory.”

Describing covenant as a ranker, Akanbi said: “Covenant is a ranker. It ranks people. It takes you from one level of life to the other. Covenant makes you a smooth-rider in life. Although redemption is equal to all born-again children of God, covenant is what takes us to different levels in life just like the Bible makes it clear that stars also differ in glory.”

A major highlight of the Covenant Day service was when Dr. Akanbi asked everyone in the service to lie flat before the Lord on the hallowed ground of the camp and make a covenant with God concerning their prayer requests and what they would do for God after He answered for their requests. This was after he had given an explosive exposition on how powerful a covenant could be.

The church choir, the Zion Voices and the popular gospel singer, Evangelist BukolaBekes thrilled faithful with melodious songs that moved the worshippers both young and old to dance to the altar joyfully in worship to God and the redemption of their lives through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Aside the powerful prayer sessions, barren women gave testimonies of how God blessed them with babies after years of waiting upon Him. There were also testimonies of divine favour, where members had international trips and were awarded scholarships.
