APC to ‘reclaim stolen mandate’ in region’s headquarters

GOVERNMENTS of Enugu and Anambra states will partner in various areas of mutual interest, especially business development, in efforts to expand their individual economies.

Governor Willy Obiano of Anambra State and his Enugu counterpart, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, told newsmen at the Government House in Enugu yesterday that they would treat the cooperation with all the seriousness it requires.

Obiano said: “We discussed areas of mutual interest business-wise. Basically, this is my first visit since Ugwuanyi became the governor of Enugu State. I actually came to congratulate him and if there is any challenge we will discuss it.”

However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has expressed readiness to reclaim its alleged stolen mandate from Ugwuanyi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) through the courts, describing Ugwuanyi as a “temporary tenant.”

APC State Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, told newsmen at the end of the party’s stakeholders’ meeting in Enugu yesterday that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) erred in declaring Ugwuanyi winner of the April 11 gubernatorial poll.
