Eritrea is participating in the Winter Olympic games that will be held from 4 to 20 February 2022 in Beijing, Peoples Republic of China.
At the opening ceremony conducted on 4 February, Eritrea was represented by Athlete Shanon Okbanay carrying the Eritrean Flag.
Athlete Shanon will compete in the skiing contest that will be held on 13 February.
Athlete Shanon Okbanay, the first Eritrean to compete in the skiing competition had participated at the Winter Olympics in 2012 representing Eritrea.
At the Winter Olympic games that is being conducted for the 24th time, Africa will be represented by five athletes from Eritrea, Nigeria, Morocco, Madagascar and Ghana.
