Erosion: Ogun community commissions concrete culverts, seeks government’s assistance

To tackle erosion and improve accessibility, the Ire Akari Forum, a group of Community Development Associations (CDAs) within the Ifelodun Area Community Development Committee (ACDC) in Ogun State, has commissioned two culverts.

Chairman of the Ire Akari Forum, Anthony Asu, said the culvert will address erosion and enhance accessibility, following alleged neglect by the Ogun State government.


He noted that the forum consists of five CDAs, namely: Ire Akari, Itesiwaju, Ifejoba, Oluwasemiloore, and God’s Glory,

According to him, the forum serves as a shining example of the power of community collaboration and self-help initiatives.

He stressed that the projects highlight the community’s commitment to development and self-improvement.

Asu solicited Ogun State government’s assistance in tackling several development challenges in the community.

Speaking, Chairperson for Itesiwaju CDA, Oluwatoyin Taiwo, extolled the cooperation of Itesiwaju CDA members and volunteers from neighbouring CDAs within the Ire Akari Forum for successful completion of the project, to improve the condition of Ogunmokun Road, at the entrance of John Babalola Street.
