In a bid to establish a cooperative business community for financial investment and wealth creation, ‘Fund-Yes’ has launched an entrepreneurship fund for youths and women.

The initiative, tagged: ‘FUND-YES Entrepreneurship Enhancement Fund,’ (FeeFund) was unveiled at a dinner, hosted in Abuja.

In attendance were: The Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar CFR; former INEC Chairman and Professor of Pharmacognosy, Maurice Iwu; PANDEF Chairman and Founder of Ritman University, Senator Emmanuel Ebok-Essien; President of National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), Hajiya Lami Adamu; Chairman of Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Dr Pogu Bitrus and frontline Humanitarian Activist and high-profile Social Entrepreneur, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, among others.

The organisers of the event hinted that the launch of ‘FeeFund’ is a step in the right direction in the country’s ongoing efforts to lessen the burden of economic hardship.

According to them, the worrisome insecurity, poverty and hunger, which have plagued the country, calls for the need to create jobs and employment opportunities for youths and women.

They urged well meaning Nigerians, private sectors and government at all levels to partner and collaborate with the initiative, contribute and support its activities, thereby stimulating entrepreneurial revolution.

Specifically, Iyere who is the founder of FUND-YES noted that, “Scores of youths and women who are unemployed are neither unintelligent nor lazy but are financially handicapped and lack enterprise development assistance needed to set up and grow their businesses.

“The need to address the financial constraints faced by youth and women entrepreneurs is why we are compelled to establish FeeFund.”

Iyere warned of the dangers of rising youth unemployment, describing it as a “ticking time bomb” that could lead to social unrest if not addressed. He urged for immediate action to prevent a potential crisis.Iyere said that the ‘FeeFund’ will kick-start on Friday, June 7, 2024, and would be driven by a team of advocates.

He stated that the initial amount of philanthropic funds designed to be generated through the proposed global fundraising campaign would be disclosed publicly.
