Ex-Konga CEO commits suicide in Lagos

Nick Imudia

Lagos State Police Command yesterday confirmed that Nick Imudia, a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Konga, one of Nigeria’s e-commerce giants, committed suicide in his Lagos home.

It was gathered that Imudia killed himself on the night of Tuesday, June 25, by jumping from the balcony of his Lekki, Lagos apartment.

It was learnt that before making the jump, he called his US-based brother and gave instructions on how his wealth should be distributed if anything happens to him.

He also called his daughter from a previous relationship and told her he would always be there for her.

It was said that no one knew why the deceased, who hailed from Ika South Local Council of Delta State, took his own life.

Nick was previously married to the mother of his young daughter who was also from the same local council with him.

It was learnt that the marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences.

He gave love a second chance when he married a Caucasian.

Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said: “We have confirmed that he died by suicide. That is the information we can provide now.”
