Experts canvass enabling environment to promote vocational skills

Ezinne Ezeani
Government at all levels has been advised to support youth entrepreneurship to re-engineer and reposition the economy.

Convener, SheCan, Ezinne Ezeani, made the call in Lagos, saying government should continuously provide an enabling environment and infrastructure to support businesses and citizens.

Noting that skills and knowledge are the driving force of economic development, she said small-scale businesses are the bedrock of a country’s economy, enabling the youths to get involved in vocational skills and entrepreneurship empowerment programmes.

Ezeani said Shecan Nigeria has continuously empowered women and youth with several vocational skills such as catering, digital marketing, crafts, hat/fascinator making and photography.

At the programme, some of the beneficiaries were given cash gifts and startup kits.

An award-winning ace photographer, Kelechi Amadi, urged them to keep learning, researching and engaging in photography craft.
