Explosion rocks Kabala West in Kaduna

An explosion, suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), occurred in Kabala West in Kaduna South Local Council of Kaduna State on Sunday night.

Although, details of the blast remain sketchy, police said investigation will be launched into the incident. An eyewitness said the loud bang from the explosion sent everyone within the vicinity scampering to safety.

The witness said: “ Kabala West is boiling. The sound no doubt is a bomb explosion. Everyone took to their heels when they heard the sound because we’ve never experienced this before.”

Spokesperson for Police Command in Kaduna, Mohammed Jalige, who confirmed the incident on Monday in Kaduna said: “The explosion is suspected to be IED, and there is no casualty recorded in the incident. There was nobody in the building when it exploded. It happened on Sunday night at about 21: 45p.m.

“The anti-bomb squad has been deployed to the scene to analyse the particles we got from the place.’’
Jalige promised that details of findings would be made available after investigation.
