DataPro trains journalists on credit rating, announces date

Plans have been concluded by the technology-driven Credit Rating Agency (CRA), DataPro, to train media practitioners on the value propositions of the credit rating industry.

Slated to be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, with the theme ‘Understanding Qualitative Factors in Rating Considerations’, virtually, the firm in a statement, said the aim was to educate media practitioners covering the business, financial and economic desk with the knowledge, skillet, and aptitude to correctly report sector very well.

According to the Chief Rating Officer of DataPro, Oladele Adeoye, media practitioners must be able to report the regulatory landscape, industry trends, economic ecosystem, market conditions, environment, social, political, corporate governance, and risk management components associated with the qualitative part of the credit rating report.

He noted that participants are expected both from the print and electronic media.

He said the training programme was conceived by the company in 2021 as its corporate social responsibility (CSR) project to increase the investing public awareness about the value propositions of the credit rating industry.

In continuation of its socialisation efforts at promoting the rating industry, Adeoye added that the company also organises international credit rating webinars yearly, every October.
