Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has restated his administration’s commitment to strengthening the education sector through the construction of model schools across the state.
Speaking at a quarterly meeting of the Victory High School Old Students’ Association (1981 set) in Ikeja, Lagos, Eno said the state government was currently building model primary schools as well as secondary schools in each of the three senatorial districts.
According to him, the projects are designed to guarantee qualitative and comprehensive learning for children in Akwa Ibom.
The governor explained that his attendance at the alumni meeting was not only to reconnect with former classmates but also to acknowledge the role his alma mater played in shaping his leadership journey.
Eno, who was conferred with the title of Grand Patron by the association, thanked members for their support during his governorship campaign and the funeral of his late wife, Pastor Patience Eno.
He urged old students of various institutions to give back to their schools, noting that individual achievements are often rooted in the foundation provided by their alma mater.
The President of the 1981 set, Pastor J.K. Abiodun, said the gathering was aimed at advancing the association’s objectives and celebrating Eno, who was once the Senior Prefect of the school.
Other speakers, including the Global President of Victory High School Alumni, Taiwo Salami, praised the set for its coordination and contributions to the school community.
