Nigerian Cybersecurity Expert, Omolade Ikumapayi, Honoured as IPBIM Fellow

Nigerian technology expert, Omolade Ikumapayi, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Institute of Productivity and Business Innovation Management (IPBIM), in recognition of her groundbreaking contributions to cybersecurity and embedded systems.
Ikumapayi, whose innovation CANASTA (Controller Area Network Authentication Schedulability Timing Analysis) has gained international adoption, was inducted on Friday, January 19, 2024. The open-source tool is used globally by researchers, Tier-1 automotive suppliers, and regulatory bodies to secure vehicular systems while maintaining performance standards.
According to IPBIM, CANASTA has over 40 academic citations and has been referenced in federally funded projects as well as ISO/SAE 21434 compliance initiatives.
Beyond her flagship tool, Ikumapayi has developed automotive testbeds, advanced real-time simulation models, and led security demonstrations at the CyberTruck Challenge, solidifying her reputation as a leading voice in the field.
The institute further noted that her Fellowship places her among the top 10 per cent of global experts recognized for advancing productivity and innovation.
Ikumapayi also chairs IPBIM’s “IT Revolution for a Better Economy in Nigeria” initiative, which seeks to unlock Africa’s economic potential through digital transformation.
