The private residence of the Minister of State, FCT, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, was razed down by fire on Sunday afternoon.
Reports suggest that nothing was salvaged from the No. 9, Justice Roseline Ukeji Close, Asokoro, as emergency response was slow to arrive at the location.
Though no official statement has been released on the incident, the media aide to the minister, Mr. Austine Elemue, who confirmed the incident, said the cause of the fire outbreak is being investigated.
Findings from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) fire service suggest that the fire affected all the household contents of the upper floor including documents, credentials and jewelries.
Cause of the fire is suspected to be electrical fault inside the children’s room.
