Firm boosts export drive with container freight station

APM Terminals’ West Africa Container Terminal (WACT) has commissioned its new Container Freight Station (CFS) at Onne Port, Rivers State, to support streamlined processes for import and export operations, reducing time and cost for customers.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of WACT, Jeethu Jose, stated that the facility would act as a central hub for various trade-related activities, including interactions with regulatory authorities. He said the facility aimed to seamlessly connect businesses in eastern Nigeria with the global marketplace and vice versa.

Jose highlighted that expertly crafted solutions at the facility are designed to expedite the movement of key Nigerian commodities, such as agro-products and solid minerals, ensuring Just-in-Time (JIT) service delivery through efficient stuffing and swift transfers to the port.

He added that the facility also offers reliable warehousing services for both import and export cargo across diverse sectors, aiding the government’s drive to promote exports and generate foreign exchange, benefiting the country and the economy.
