An indigenous technological firm, Tech Nexus Limited in collaboration with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has said it is organising an exposition in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to showcase and ignite innovation and technological advancement among youths in the Niger Delta region.
Chief Executive Officer of Tech Nexus Limited, Belema George, in a statement on Wednesday, disclosed that the expo themed: Igniting Innovation in the Niger Delta, aims at galvanizing tech experts from across the world to share insights and expertise with attendees of the programme.
According to him, the oil-rich rich Niger Delta region has suffered from neglect by the government and oil and gas companies for years, leading to restiveness among the youth and illegal activities such as crude oil bunkering.
He said although there is hope on the horizon, his firm is organizing the exposition to showcase and ignite innovation and technological advancement among youths in the region.
The upcoming expo, set to take place on April 24, promises to energize the technological ecosystem of the region, stressing that it will provide a platform for tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and innovators to network, share knowledge, and collaborate with industry professionals and policymakers.
He said: “At a time when technology is crucial to driving economic growth and social development, the Port Harcourt Tech Expo 2024 aims to inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and pave the way for a vibrant tech ecosystem in the Niger Delta.
“It will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, product demonstrations, and networking sessions, with notable speakers from across the world, including representatives from tech giants like Microsoft.
