FoodCo Nigeria has been listed among Africa’s fastest-growing companies for the second year running.
The yearly listing is compiled by a global business newspaper, Financial Times, in collaboration with Statista.
It ranked FoodCo 39th out of the 100 fastest-growing companies on the continent.
According to a statement by Financial Times, the companies were ranked according to their Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) between 2018 and 2021.
FoodCo was the only modern retail player among the 26 Nigerian companies featured.
Speaking on the listing, the Chief Executive Officer of the firm, Ade Sun-Basorun, commended Financial Times for the recognition.
He expressed appreciation to FoodCo staff and customers for their support in helping the company actualise its potential.
He said: “We are elated at this recognition from Financial Times, more so as it is our second consecutive year on the list. For us, times like these call for sober reflection given our humble beginning as a small corner shop to where we are today as a top five retailer in Nigeria.”
