Jet Aviation Consults, a training and capacity-building company, has trained senior Ministry of Defence staffers who are working at the Nigerian Army Establishment on financial management.

According to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Jet Aviation Consults, Air Vice Marshal Gbolahan Idowu (rtd), the training was to empower senior Ministry of Defence members and it was tailored to their unique needs.

He said the firm was committed to helping individuals and organisations to achieve their full potential through effective learning and development.
Chief of Accounts and Budget, Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. A.A. Fayemiwo, said the training was in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s (COAS) commitment to transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving its constitutional responsibility within a joint environment.

He stressed that the training renewed the synergy between the military and civilian staff of the Ministry of Defence with an overriding commitment to optimising the command of the COAS as well as building a better security architecture.

He said the training, which covered six lectures, provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the latest developments and best practices in the field of public finances and healthy living.

He added the lectures helped participants to understand changes that have taken place in public service with the introduction of the new Public Service Rules 2021, covering the new performance management system and the rewards in public service. Fayemiwo said the training contained lectures on hypertension as well.

The host and commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration (NASFA), Brig. Gen. Julius Osifo, said NASFA, the training arm of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps, has the primary responsibility of training personnel in military pay duties, records and clerical duties.
