The wife of the Niger State Governor, Fatima Mohammed Umaru Bago,  paid an unscheduled visit to two public hospitals in Minna at midnight of Monday, June 3, 2023.


A statement by her Chief Press Secretary, Hadiza Maikano, stated that the First Lady was at the Minna General Hospital where she spent time engaging with patients, and offered words of encouragement, while donating cash to patients on admission to support the payment of their medical bills and others.

Fatima Bago extended gratitude to the medical staff, and hospital administrators on duty for their tireless efforts in providing healthcare services.

The governor’s wife also visited the Jummai Babangida Neonatal Hospital, Minna, where she toured various departments of the hospital, taking a keen interest in understanding the challenges faced by patients, while equally donating cash to each patient.


Also, the wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu, yesterday, distributed food items to over 600 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and people living with disabilities in Nasarawa State.

The First Lady said that the food distribution is being done under the renewed hope initiative of the food outreach scheme, as part of its social investment programme.

She said: “The food outreach scheme is designed to provide food to the underprivileged in the society in line with the resolve of the administration of President Bola Tinubu, which is proposed to leave no one behind in food security and sufficiency in the country.”

Tinubu, who was represented by the wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima, noted that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kano and Nasarawa states had benefited from the scheme, which will be followed by Benue State.
