The group said that Governor Mbah within his eight months of administration has demonstrated excellence in leadership by embarking on different developmental projects, particularly in his continuation of previously abandoned projects in the state, such as the International Conference Center.
FOF-MENHA however asked the Governor to use the privilege of the presitegous award to support the realisation of autonomy for the Enugu state House of Assembly and other state legislature in Nigeria.
Chairman of the group, Dr Josef Onoh while delivering their Goodwill message, asked the Governor to ensure that his developmental strides touch all constituencies in the state, particularly in agriculture for job and wealth creation in the present socio-economic slide.
"We commend the Governor for the effort he is making to bring back the International Conference Center which will promote Enugu's tourism potentials and create employment opportunities for the youths.
"The Governor has been up and doing in infrastructural improvement such as in road construction and water provision and we urge him to continue and do more.
"On behalf of all the members of the Forum of Former Members of Enugu State House of Assembly, we congratulate him for the Sun award as Governor of the Year and we wish him more success in his administration.
"We ask him to show support for the actualization of full autonomy of state legislature in Nigeria by engaging fellow governors of the 36 States as we advocate for quick realisation of the Independence of the state legislature which will strengthen democracy in Nigeria.
"We're happy that Governor Mbah is the first Governor in the state since 2007 who has come and shown interest in completing abandoned projects that were left by the previous administrations and that shows exemplary leadership quality. Governor Mbah has earned our respect and support in developing Enugu State," the group hailed.
