Former “Smallville” Star Allison Mack Released from Prison Early

Allison Mack, the former “Smallville” actress who was convicted of sex trafficking, was released from prison early on Monday.

Mack, 40, was sentenced to three years in prison in 2021 for her role in the NXIVM cult, which prosecutors said used women as sex slaves. She was released after serving two years of her sentence.

Mack had been eligible for early release under the First Step Act, a bipartisan criminal justice reform law passed in 2018. The law allows federal prisoners to earn credits for good behavior, which can shorten their sentences.

Mack’s release was met with mixed reactions. Some people expressed support for her, saying that she had taken responsibility for her actions and had been rehabilitated. Others criticized her, saying that she had not served enough time for her crimes.

Mack is now under supervised release for the remainder of her sentence. She is prohibited from contacting any of the victims of her crimes.
