Foundation donates school kits, food items to kids, PWDs, others at Sallah

A non-governmental organisation, The Queen Adenike Tejuosho Foundation (QAT Foundation), has donated school kits and food items to school children, Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) and other less privileged in Karmonjigi Community in Abuja.

The gesture, the organisation said, is its own way of celebrating the Eid,-el Kabir festivities.

Speaking at the event, Founder of QAT Foundation, Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, explained that the gesture was aimed at bringing smiles to the faces of the less privileged in the spirit of Sallah and give them a sense of belonging.

Dr Tejuosho tasked Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of giving to the less privileged of the society.

Represented by Agatha Abdullahi, the Founder said her foundation is committed to giving back to the disadvantaged and showing empathy to the downtrodden.

She said the foundation had earlier visited Durumi and Kuchingoro communities in Abuja in previous festivities.

Her words, “We realised that the government cannot do it alone, hence our intervention through this foundation across the country.”

Speaking on behalf of Alhaji Suleiman Katsina, Emir of People with Disability in the community, the Secretary, Alhaji Muhammad Dantami, thanked the foundation for remembering them on a special occasion to restore their hope and show of love.

According to him, in the last two decades, no foundation has ever done this for them.

He appealed to President Bola Tinubu to consider Tejuosho for the vacant position of Humanitarian Affairs Minister.

He also called on the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) to continue to empower the PWDs so that they can also empower their community via skills acquisition.
