IN a renewed effort to tackle Nigeria’s nagging challenges of nationhood, The Sam Ohuanbunwa Foundation For Economic Empowerment (SOFEE) has launched two new books and reissued three earlier titles to mark the 65th birthday of its founder, pharmacist, industrialist and author, Mazi Sam Ohuanbunwa.
In a statement, at the weekend, by an Administrative Executive of SOFEE, Gogo Chidiebere Prince, the foundation said the book launch of latest books titled The Port Harcourt Volunteer — Experiences of a Young Combatant in the Nigeria-Biafra War, and Sam Ohuabunwa’s Paradigm—Thoughts on Contemporary National Issues, would involve series of nationwide literary outreaches in honour of Ohuabunwa, who clocked 65 on Sunday, August, 16, 2015.
He said: “The outreaches would hold from today to August 20, 2015 in Lagos, Abuja, Enugu and Port Harcourt respectively and would feature readings and discourse on the challenges bedeviling Nigeria, especially on the areas of national development and youth empowerment.”
According to him, “in the foreword of Paradigm — Thoughts on Contemporary National Issues, Prof. Adebayo Williams says, “It is the considered opinion of this writer that this excellent collection of articles would find enduring place among works meant to ameliorate the human condition and to warm the heart of the Black race about the possibilities of restitution once we have got our act together. In both practical and intellectual terms, this book is a manual for that historic redemption.”
An accomplished pharmacist, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa is the Founding Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc and was CEO, Pfizer West Africa.
