Foundation offers N10m scholarship to 50 indigents in Imo

Fitfty indigent pupils and students in Imo State have been awarded scholarship by Eric Cares Foundation.


The recipients according to the foundation were selected from six primary and secondary schools in Oru East council of the state based on their intelligence and economic plights.

The foundation also distributed education materials worth over five million Naira to pupils and students of some selected schools in the area. The items include exercise books, school bags, water bottles among others.

The beneficiary schools include Ozuh Omuma Community Primary School; Omuma Technical School; Divine Favour Secondary School; Akatta Secondary School; Uche Secondary School and Amiri Secondary School.


Speaking to newsmen at the event, the Director of the foundation, Eric Uwakwe said the gesture was part of the foundation’s “Back to School; Giving Back Outreach Program for Primary School Pupils and Secondary School Students.

Uwakwe, also the Special Adviser Governor Hope Uzodinma on Youth Affairs and Director General, Shared Prosperity Youth Movement (SPYM) further disclosed that the event was designed to assist the less privileged children in community schools in rural areas to achieve their education pursuit.

The Governor aide also used the opportunity to urged the parents, teachers and indigenes of the areas to support the re-elections Uzodimma, who he said has demonstrated competent and excellent leadership in governance of the state.

Responding, little Miss Uchechi Nwadike, Kingsley Okafor and some other recipients expressed gratitude for the education support and pledged to make the foundation and their parents proud by excelling in the academics.
