Foundation renovates toilet facilities for school

To improve hygiene and reduce open defecation among schools across the country, the Angel Foundation has renovated toilet facilities and provided a water system for Saint Michael’s African School students and teachers, in the Ipari Nla, Ijebu-North-East Local Council, Ogun State.

The project, which gulped millions of Naira saw the overhaul of 10 outdated pit toilets, which were divided between male and female. After the renovation, the male and female sections each have three toilets, along with dedicated hand washing and shower rooms.

This contribution ensures a reliable supply of potable water for the students and teachers. The foundation also provided water bottles to accompany the new system, ensuring that each student has access to safe drinking water throughout the school hours.

The head teacher of the school, alongside the community head of Ipari Nla, Mrs Kazeem B.A, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the foundation for its unwavering commitment to improving the lives of students and teachers.

This was also re-echoed by Chief Adekunle Adeniyi, The Baale of Ipari Nla, who emphasised the far-reaching impact of the foundation’s initiatives on the school and the entire community.

The significance of the project was further underscored by the presence of Hon Folusho Badejo, chairman of Ijebu North East Local Government, who commended the foundation’s initiative as a testament to the importance of collaborative efforts in community development. He said that the event underscored the reality that government alone cannot address all the needs of our communities.

The founder of the Angel Foundation, Oluwaseun Hassan, expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the project’s success. He said the foundation was proud to have played a part in enhancing the educational experience for the students at Saint Michael’s African School.
