French School to deepen multilingual education

As part of efforts to enrich learning, a French international school, in Lagos, Lycee Francais Louis Pasteur (LFLP), has reiterated its commitment to the delivery of a multilingual educational experience.

The principal, Sylvain Malrieu, said by embracing other languages such as French, students can enrich their learning experience and broaden their worldview.

Malrieu, who stated this during a tour of the school’s newly built facilities by journalists, said it operates the same curriculum as obtained in France, which delivers world-class education.

The school recently renovated and installed state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) laboratories to equip students with the right educational resources.

The principal noted that French will soon become a global language, and called on non-French native speakers to take advantage of the school as it allows them access visas and further their education in France.

“Our curriculum is 100 per cent French, which means what students are learning is the same as the curriculum that is in France, and at the end of the high school, they pass French exams.

Our Nigerian students are fluent enough in French to pass the same exams as native speakers.,” he stated.

In addition to the two languages, Malrieu said students are offered German, Spanish, Arabic and Latin as options in secondary school.

The vice principal, Funke Bowoto, said French Schools are like a web around the world as there are over 600 of them globally.
